OUSA Clubs & Societies

Feldspar partnered with the Otago University Students’ Association to provide comprehensive project management services for the structural strengthening, re¬roofing and exterior maintenance of the OUSA Clubs and Societies Centre.

Our scope included project initiation and scoping, consultant engagement, design management, tender procurement, construction observation, Independent Certifier under NZS 3910:2023 and handover compliance to secure Code of Compliance Certificates.

During construction, external factors forced a pivot to a programme in two stages, delivered over two separate summers, instead of one, between semesters to minimise disruption by working over the Christmas period.  We clearly defined Stage 1 and Stage 2, coordinated compliance approvals with Dunedin City Council, ABL and the consultant team, and throughout construction carried out fortnightly site inspections, key milestone checks and monthly reports to the Project Control Group.  Post construction we managed the defects maintenance period to finalise Code of Compliance. The successful delivery ensures the Centre will serve OUSA members for the next 50 years.
